The Purnululu National Park is home to the Bungle Bungle range. Located 250km west of Kununurra and 108km east of Halls Creek, this amazing place is a sight to see - from the ground and from the air. In 2003, the Bungle Bungles was inscribed a World Heritage area. It covers 2400 square kilometres (925 square miles). Purnululu National Park covers 600,000 acres.
Twenty million years of weathering have produced the eroded sandstone towers and banded beehive shaped structures of the Bungle Bungle Range.
Aboriginal people have been living in the area for over 20,000 years and have a continual connection to country, with local people still using the resources that have sustained them for thousands of years.
A new visitor centre has recently opened at the National Park. The new building has been designed to fit in with the unique, natural surroundings of Purnululu National Park and educate visitors about the Traditional Owners of the land, the Jaru and Gija people and their culture.

Access to Purnululu National Park is for high-clearance four-wheel drive vehicles and single-axle high-clearance camper trailers and caravans only. It is 53km to the Purnululu Visitor Centre from the Great Northern Highway, via the unsealed Spring Creek Track. The track can be rocky, sandy, and corrugated in areas with some creek crossings that may only be dry towards the end of the dry season. Please drive to the conditions and look out for cattle and wildlife. It can take approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to reach the Purnululu Visitor Centre, depending on the road conditions.

Online bookings are essential for all campgrounds this season especially Walardi and Kurrajong campgrounds in Purnululu National Park.
