A beach party like no other, Airnorth Cable Beach Polo is pleased to announce a line-up of food, music and fashion as part of the three-day festival to take place in Broome, 25 to 27 May 2018.

Saturday night’s Dinner Under The Stars will feature Executive Chef Jack Stein who will be serving a special menu created from the finest Kimberley produce. This year’s culinary creations will be accompanied by new champagne partner, Perrier-Jouët with the rare and elegant vintage Belle Époque offered as a welcome beverage for guests at the dinner.

Earlier that day at the Airnorth Cable Beach Polo tournament, acclaimed country music singer-songwriter Chelsea Basham will entertain spectators in the VIP Marquee, with an arena performance on Sunday for everyone to enjoy. Considered among Australia’s hottest new artists, Chelsea was announced Female Artist of the Year at the 2017 CMC Music Awards, and has received a Golden Guitar and APRA Music Award.

The two-day polo tournament will culminate on Sunday 27th May when the glamour continues with Kimberley Girl models parading unique and rare fashions designed with Nagula Jarndu textiles. Nagula Jarndu are famous for the hand-printed designs by the traditional Yawuru women of Broome.

The entire weekend will feature DJ sensation Daimon Downey whose upbeat sounds have become synonymous with the Cable Beach Polo festival.

In celebration of the occasion, the second series of WA-produced television show ‘Born to Cook – Jack Stein Down Under’ by MAGO Films is coming to Broome, where Jack will film his quest to source locally produced seafood, meat and vegetables for the ‘Dinner Under The Stars’. The opportunity will showcase the region internationally as it broadcasts in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Airnorth Cable Beach Polo Producer, Marilynne Paspaley AM, is thrilled to welcome Mr Stein and MAGO Films to Broome for the event.

“The Cable Beach Polo is excited to work with Jack Stein in creating a sumptuous feast for our guests at the ‘Dinner Under the Stars’.

“Jack will offer a valuable insight into the pristine nature of the region and its premium grade foods through this internationally broadcast television series, while treating our guests with only the best that the region has to offer in their meal.”

Jack Stein believes that Western Australia is one of the best places in the world for the quality of its food produce, and is looking forward to having a Kimberley experience, having already produced a series in the state’s southern region.

“I’m extremely excited to be cooking at the Airnorth Cable Beach Polo.

“The event will be the highlight of my new television series being shot in the North West and I can’t wait to discover all the great produce that I’ll find up there.

“I’m also very proud to be cooking alongside one of my oldest chef friends who worked with me in Cornwall, Dan Gedge, who’s now head chef at Leeuwin Estate.”

An intimate dinner for 200 guests on Cable Beach, tickets to ‘Dinner Under the Stars’ are available as part of the Platinum, Silver and Gold packages, on sale until Friday 18 May.

About Cable Beach Polo

The ‘sport of kings’ comes to one of the world’s most stunning beaches in 2018, 25 to 27 May.

The pristine sands of Broome’s iconic Cable Beach ignite when Australia’s only multi-day beach polo tournament is played in May each year.

The Airnorth Cable Beach Polo tournaments have featured leading polo players from New Zealand, Argentina, Colombia, India and Australia, vying for glory across two days of thrilling beach polo action that culminates in a spectacular Cup final.

The glamour and vigour of polo heats up on the sand for a unique experience – a polo arena bordering the sparkling azure waters of the Indian ocean, bikini-clad spectators and Broome’s spectacular setting sun signalling the end of each day’s play.

This extraordinary sporting spectacle is free to watch picnic-style from the sand, but there is also an option to purchase tickets to the Cable Beach Polo VIP Marquee or the Matso’s Polo Beach Bar and mingle in barefoot elegance with the players and new friends from around the globe.

On Saturday night the celebration continues with Dinner Under The Stars featuring Executive Chef Jack Stein where guests join players and patrons on this magical night. Due to limited seating capacity, these tickets are available with the purchase of the Airnorth Platinum Passport and the Gold Weekend Pass.

Airnorth Cable Beach Polo is produced by Cable Beach Polo Pty Ltd.

About Born to Cook - Jack Stein Down Under

Jack Stein, acclaimed British chef, has recently taken charge of the nine restaurants under the Stein umbrella conceived by his celebrity father Rick. Jack has burst onto the scene ready to put his own spin on the produce Australia has to offer.

In the first series, Jack worked his way through WA’s South-West and the Southern Forests region meeting the producers at the helm of the foodie revolution defining the region.

From finger limes to famous surfers, Jack’s excitement is palpable as he makes his way across the landscape in his burnt orange Sandman, Delilah. Throw this all together and we’ve got a recipe for a fresh, light and simple cooking experience as Jack edges in his professional home-tips to give even the most basic home chef’s dish the “wow” factor.

Join Jack on his adventure to show that he was really born to cook.

Born to Cook – Jack Stein Down Under is a MAGO Films production supported by Screen West.
