From 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021, the course fee rate per hour for these qualifications will be reduced by 50 per cent. The maximum annual fee students will pay is capped at $400 for concession students and youth, and at $1,200 for non-concession students
The fee reduction is part of the State Government’s two-year Lower fees, local skills initiative, aimed at stimulating training in job growth areas and support new apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities in Western Australia.
“Students in the Pilbara and the Kimberley will now have access to more affordable training across a range of qualifications. Not only are fees for non-concession students capped at $1200, students eligible for a concession rate and youth aged between 15 and 24, will have the opportunity to undertake a full year’s study capped at just $400. This means that all our students enrolling in courses under the new initiative will receive a reduction in course fees,” NR TAFE Managing Director, Kevin Doig said. Read more...

Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) provides you with an opportunity to have your pre-existing skills recognised in a nationally accredited system. You could then be eligible to gain partial or full credit for your pre-existing skills, helping to fast-track your qualification. As part of the RPL process, an assessor will work with you to identify whether your skills meet industry standards, and if any further training is required.
