Just a few kilometres out of Broome we head north on the Cape Leveque Road. Travelling over rugged terrain on the unsealed sections of the road our first stop is Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community. Here we visit the famous Sacred Heart Church with its exquisite Pearl Shell Altar built in 1918 by the Pallotine Monks and local Aborigines.
Heading further north our next stop is Lombodina, where the traditional owners will take us on a guided walk of their community. They are happy to share their knowledge about bush foods and medicines, traditional hunting and fishing techniques and their special relationship with their land and the ocean. Also a chance to visit their craft shop where you will find many local hand made products.
Next stop is Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm situated on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula. Enjoy a chef prepared lunch followed by an insightful Pearl Farm Tour to learn about the history of the pearling industry. Whilst here, take the opportunity to visit their showroom where you will see some of the finest South Sea Pearls grown and harvested right there!
Next stop for the inner-adventurer is an exhilirating 2 hour sea safari on the Buccaneer Archipelagofamed for enormous tidal rush, standing waves, and intense whirlpools.
Time for an afternoon swim in the beautiful turquoise waters of kooljaman. Sit back and relax or stroll along the beautiful beach where the sands are white and the scenery is amazing!
We bid farewell to those who have chosen the Scenic Flight (must be pre-booked) down the beautiful coast before we heading back to Broome on the coach, arriving at approximately 7:30pm.
