Willie Creek Pearls is owned and operated by the Banfield Family. The Banfield family moved to Broome in 1989, when Lord McAlpine was developing the town. They purchased Broome Buslines, and successfully developed it into a tour company offering coach tours throughout the Kimberley. After operating tours to Willie Creek, they acquired the Pearl Farm.
Since then they have expanded operations to include commercial pearling, The Zookeepers Store at Cable Beach and the historical Pearl Luggers. Through these operations, they deliver an entertaining, memorable and complete pearl experience, providing an insight into the home and story behind the Pearl of Western Australia.
Pinctada maxima, the largest pearl producing oyster in the world, is native to the waters of North-West Australia and part of the reason the region’s pearl farms are capable of growing the most valuable pearls in the world.

Discover how the anatomy of this fascinating creature combines with the natural elements of the Kimberley landscape to create such a magical gem.
