3-day Seagrass Monitoring Training Event
Seagrass-Watch will be returning to Broome on Friday 22 August 2025 to deliver a free 3-day training event for our community! The course will cover seagrass biology and ecology, accurate scientific data collection, and equip you with the skills to help us run our surveys. Find out more and register your interest here: www.environskimberley.org.au/events There will be both classroom sessions and practical training in the field. The training is free for participants, thanks to the generous funders of the Broome Community Seagrass Monitoring Project: Rangelands NRM and Kimberley Ports Authority. A big thank you to the scientists from Seagrass-Watch who deliver this training globally and who will be coming to Broome to teach the methodology to our community in person! Seagrass-Watch is a non-profit organisation established in 1996, which has since set up over 400 monitoring sites across 26 countries—an incredible feat in the name of protecting seagrass.
