Wheelchair Accessible Accommodation

If we book a room and the guest is either wheelchair bound, or just uses a wheelchair, which room category is best suited to be able to suit a guests wheelchair needs?

Kimberley Sands Hotel
We have 3 disabled rooms onsite that can accommodate a wheelchair.
Bathroom is open plan, with a fold down bench for showering & handrails.

Broome Time Resort
Regrettably, we do not currently have a designated wheelchair access room available. However, we do have rooms located on the ground floor that are near all the necessary facilities.
Furthermore, I would like to remind you that we have established strong partnerships with Farnorth, NDIS, and Kimberley Care. We are dedicated to working closely with these organisations.

RAC Cable Beach Holiday Park
We have one fully self-contained cabin that sleeps up to four guests (one room has a queen bed and the other has one set of bunk beds). This has full access for a wheelchair.
We also have one a shower/toilet cubicle (all in one area) for campers.

Bali Hai Resort & Spa
We have rooms accessible for disabled guests and those who use a wheelchair.
We also have a disabled toilet at the resort.

Oaks Cable Beach
We have 2x 2-bedroom apartments that have been modified as special access.
Confirming these apartments accommodate wheelchair users.

Oaks Broome
We have several room types that are suitable for wheelchair users ( Hotel and Studio type).
All our showers are walk-in.
The toilets in our rooms are all in the bathrooms, of which are roomy.
Our handicapped modified rooms have handrails in the bathrooms, and do not have a step to get into the rooms, whereas our standard rooms have a tiny step to get into the room.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm
Two of our Pearler’s Village safari tents are accessibly built, and we have a ramp leading up to our restaurant for our guests who use a wheelchair. Most areas around the main farm are built with accessibility in mind as our head pearling technician is a wheelchair user himself.

Roebuck Bay Hotel
We do have one room that is suitable for disabled guests.

Broome Vacation Village
We have one chalet that has a ramp for wheelchair access. That’s about as good as it gets wheelchair wise.

Seashells
We do have rooms that are wheelchair accessible and one room that has a wheelchair accessible shower.

Eco Beach Resort
We have 1 accessible family villa , bedding is King+Bunk bed.

The Billi
We don’t have an assisted set up room, however we are on one floor and dependant on the abilities of the guest we may be able to ensure a safe and comfortable stay.
We would recommend getting in touch so we can assess on a case-by-case basis.

The Pearle
There are ramps into our Reception and Cafe areas. Toilets in this area are also ramp accessible and accessible for wheelchair access.
The Villas are all on one level with showers that are accessible. However, there are 1 - 2 steps into each Villa. Guest Rooms are not of a size appropriate for wheelchair access.

Cocos Beach Bungalows
Does not have purpose-built facilities for wheelchair access. For guests with limited mobility there is flat, easy walking access from both the front and rear car parks and each bungalow has one or two steps up. The shower has an adjustable handheld shower head and the showers are large enough to accommodate a showering chair.

The Continental Hotel (the Conti)
We do have the rooms that are wheelchair accessible – Poolside room / King Terrace. We also have a hoist at the pool.

Cable Beachside Villas
We have one villa only that is wheelchair accessible from the front door. Note that it does not have any rails inside and we don’t have a shower chair. And no pool hoist – our pool is fairly small.

Wheelchair accessible hotel. 3 rooms for people with reduced mobility

Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa

The best option is our Garden View Access Studio ( we have two ) this is suitable for all levels of wheel chair requirements and configurations. Both Access room interconnect with our Standard Garden View Studio configuration.

Broome Beach Resort
All units are suitable. 1 & 2 bedroom units are all at ground level, the 3 bedroom units have a mezzanine style bedroom upstairs but all other facilities are at ground floor level

Moonlight Bay Suites
Our designated Disabled access room is a 1 bedroom bay view category only

Bayside Holiday Apartments
Our designated Disabled access room is a 1 bedroom bay view category only

Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa
The best option is our Garden View Access Studio ( we have two ) this is suitable for all levels of wheel chair requirements and configurations. Both Access room interconnect with our Standard Garden View Studio configuration.

Blue Seas Resort
Unfortunately, Blue Seas doesn’t have any designated disabled facilities, and wheelchair access to our units and more particularly the bathrooms is not really practical.

The Habitat Resort
Our accommodation here is not suitable for wheelchair access.

Breezes Apartments
Do not have disabled facilities.

Broome Beach Resort
Do not have disabled facilities.

Mangrove Hotel
Do not have disabled facilities.

Will we be able to block the room and guarantee it for the guest?

Kimberley Sands
You can book one of these rooms however, we do need payment upfront at the time of the booking. We cannot hold or block out any of our rooms.

Cocos Beach Bungalows
Does not have purpose-built facilities for wheelchair access. For guests with limited mobility there is flat, easy walking access from both the front and rear car parks and each bungalow has one or two steps up. The shower has an adjustable handheld shower head and the showers are large enough to accommodate a showering chair.

Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa
The bathroom is completely open plan ( no step or ridges ) with hand rails and the toilet is higher than the standard, as per the industry standard

Can you supply shower chairs for guests, and if so, is there a fee for this?

Bali Hai Resort & Spa
The room has no step even going to the bathroom so it will be easier for them we have a foldable chair in the shower if they want to use it (depending on weight of the guest as to suitability).

Kimberley Sands
Bathroom is open plan, with a fold down bench for showering & handrails.

Broome Beach Resort
Can supply a plastic chair to be used in the shower, no fee.

Unfortunately we cannot provide a hoist however, the guest can organise this if they need and we can help arrange it in the room.

For requirements like hoist, wheelchair, scooters, these will have to be booked by the guests themselves directly to the provider, as they will require more information and details.

Seashells
We have had a guest hire a hoist from Broome Hospital before, however the guest will have to organise the pickup and drop off of the hoist. Depending on the dates the guest is looking at arriving we may be able to pick the hoist up for an extra charge, however this is subject to availability

The Continental Hotel (the Conti)

No hoist and no pool hoist – our pool is fairly small.

Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa
Whilst we do not provide a hoist, we have had a hoist used in this room type for a guest in the past - the guest made the arrangements from a third party. I believe each hoist varies and it would subject to measurement compatibility to each brand or style
