TransBroome Bus Service

The State Government will step in to provide a town bus service for the Broome community, after the privately-operated Broome Explorer Bus ceased operation last week. For more information please visit https://www.transregional.wa.gov.au/broome

The buses are similar to those used by Transperth, featuring a modern green and silver livery and low-floor designs for easy accessibility. This transport system ensures that Broome remains a well-connected town, offering convenience for local families.

TransBroome route 890 operates to and from Cable Beach 7 days a week. These bus services run from Monday to Friday, stopping for a short break during the school runs. On Saturdays and Sundays an hourly all-day service is available.

TransBroome buses will be accepting cash and EFTPOS.
No bookings are necessary. Simply purchase your ticket from our bus drivers upon boarding.

Please note if you pay by cash, you must tender the exact fare as drivers do not have the ability to provide change.

FARES:
** Go Anywhere: $3.50(Concession $1.60)
Day Rider: $7.00 (Concession $3.20), valid on all service on the day of purchase only.
WA Seniors Card Holders: Free after 9am Weekdays/Free on Weekends
** Note: Go Anywhere fare tickets are valid for three hours and can be used on all services over that time.

Children under 16 (students) - Free travel includes public holidays and school holidays during the school year. Concession fares apply on the weekend and during the summer school holidays only.

Sundays - Free Travel - All Passengers

SmartRider will be available in the future.

Family Rider:

A cash ticket that gives a group of up to seven people unlimited travel on the day of purchase, provided no more than two of them normally pay full fare. You may buy one at the following times.

• Weekends and public holidays – any time
• Monday to Thursday outside school holidays – after 6.00 pm
• Fridays outside school holidays – after 3.00 pm
• Monday to Friday during school holidays after 9.00 am.

Are TransBroome bus services accessible?

All buses that operate on our bus network are fully accessible. These buses can kneel to the kerb, lowering the step to make it easier for passengers to board and having built-in ramps that can extend to the kerb for those who need it, including passengers with wheelchairs, prams or mobility devices.

Each accessible bus has fold-up chairs with space for two wheelchairs, prams or mobility devices. While all Transregional bus routes are serviced by fully accessible buses, not every bus stop on the network is accessible.
