Dampier Peninsula Campgrounds and Accommodation

The Dampier Peninsula has four major communities One Arm Point (Ardyaloon), Djarindjin, Lombadina and Beagle Bay. There are many camping and accommodation options available.

Cape Leveque road is now sealed and 2WD accessible! High clearance, 4x4 vehicles are still needed if you plan to access more remote locations off the Broome-Cape Leveque Road, as side access roads are unsealed.

The turnoff to Cape Leveque road is located approximately 20 kilometres from Broome, on the Broome Road. The newly sealed Broome-Cape Leveque Road has improved access through the Dampier Peninsula to Aboriginal communities, pastoral stations, pearling industries and tourist destinations. COVID-19 coronavirus: Remote Aboriginal communities travel: From Wednesday 15 June 2022, access to remote Aboriginal communities is permitted, however, some communities may choose to still apply their own restrictions. You must check with local visitor centres or directly with the community before you arrive to a Remote Aboriginal Community, especially if you are wanting to use amenities or be provided with food or fuel. Stay informed to protect our remote communities or pop into the Broome Visitor Centre before you head to the Dampier Peninsula.

Note: There is NO FREE CAMPING anywhere on the Dampier Peninsula.

Dump points are not available on the Dampier Peninsula.

Note: Nature based parks will provide limited facilities and amenities.
Transit parks have a maximum of 3 night stay and may have limited amenities.

Beagle Bay Community Entry Fee

Beagle Bay Community is introducing a Community Entry Fee. From 15^th April 2024 visitors to the community will be required to pay $15 each, children under 10 can enter Beagle Bay for free. Beagle Bay visitor wrist bands can be purchased from the community office, Beagle Bay Store or the Broome Visitor Centre. Online payment will be available in soon. We are sure that you’ll agree that Broome and the surrounding areas are spectacular and iconic locations. Please help us ensure it stays that way by -

• Book ahead to avoid disappointment. There has been a significant increase in the popularity of tourism in the Kimberley which as a remote area puts pressure on the availability of goods and services.
• Managing your waste. Dump points are very limited on the Dampier Peninsula. Protect our local environment from surprise blackwater overflows by ensuring you use the dump points in Broome or along the Great Northern Highway.
• Take your toilet paper, food scraps and other rubbish with you. Even biodegradable products don’t break down as quickly as you think they might and no one likes finding used toilet paper in the bush.
• Being kind to the community. Please be patient and respectful. Do not enter private property or a community without prior approval.
