Staircase to the Moon, Broome
Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon which occurs when a full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. The Staircase to the Moon happens 2 - 3 days a month between March and October (sometimes into November).
On selected dates during Staircase to the Moon, the Staircase to the Moon Night Markets are on at Town Beach. Here you can sample local produce, buy hand made products, a variety of international food, and enjoy the sounds of local entertainers.
The Town Beach precinct is a great vantage spot to view the Staircase to the Moon. Another popular spot is The Mangrove Hotel Resort, who often have live entertainment on Staircase night. Other local spots include the Broome Golf Club, the Roebuck Bay lookout and also a short walk across the road from Matso's Broome. Cygnet Bay, north of Broome, also offers Staircase viewing locations.

Getting there and back
Please check out the Broome Explorer Bus website for extra times on selected Staircase to the Moon nights.
They will generally leave 20 mins and 50 minutes after the moon rise from the Town Beach bus stop.
