Multi-award winning Aviair is a regional airline, charter flight operator, regular public transport (RPT) operator and a scenic air tour operator. Our head office is in Kununurra, the Kimberley, and we have large operations at both Broome and at Karratha, Western Australia.

Aviair’s fleet of 30 aircraft include; Pilatus PC12 pressurised single-engine turbine aeroplanes, B200 King Air twin turbine aeroplanes, Cessna 208 propjet Caravans, Beechcraft Baron, Cessna 210 and GA8 Airvan types. Our mission capabilities include: regular public transport (RPT), passenger charter, mining company FIFO, air freight, RFDS clinic flights, RASS remote area services, search and rescue flights, aerial geophysical work, photography flights, scenic flights and tailor-made itineraries.
Aviair, formerly known as Slingair, was founded by Kerry Slingsby in Kununurra in 1984 and more recently was owned by the Aviator Group, a private equity group based in Sydney. Under local Kununurra ownership since April 2016, Aviair is owned by Michael McConachy (Managing Director) and Geoff Hamilton, who are co-owners of the well known helicopter business, HeliSpirit, operating 24 helicopters across WA and the NT.
Aviair and our team are committed supporters of the Kimberley and Pilbara community and we support many community organisations and events with sponsorship and services. We have proudly been the naming rights sponsor of the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience as part of the Ord Valley Muster for the past three years.
For booking purposes: Infants are classified as 0-2 years and may travel free of charge on their parent’s lap. Please note that there is a limited number of infants allowed per aircraft. Children are classified as 3-12 years of age inclusive and must be accompanied by an adult.

CANCELLATION POLICY | Cancellations must be advised in writing.
DAY SCENIC FLIGHTS / TOURS
Within 24 hours or less of departure: NON-REFUNDABLE
24 hours to 7 days prior to departure: 20% administration fee will be charged per booking
OVERNIGHT TOUR PACKAGES
Within 7 days or less of departure: NON-REFUNDABLE
8 days to 14 days prior to departure: 50% of booking will be retained
15 days to 30 days prior to departure: 20% of booking will be retained
EXTENDED AIR SAFARI PACKAGES
Within 60 days or less to departure: NON-REFUNDABLE
60 days or more prior to departure: 20% deposit will be retained.
COVID-19 policy
Our Standard cancellation policy remains in place however if guests are unable to travel due to Government border closures or travel restrictions restricting the client from entering the Kimberley at the time of travel we will offer to amend the travel dates (at rate booked) or cancel without fee.
INSURANCE | We strongly recommend that all customers take out travel insurance. In the event of a tour being cancelled by us customers will be entitled to a full refund without penalty.
CHILD AGE / INFANT POLICY | Infants are classified as 0-2 years and may travel free of charge on their parent’s lap. Please note that there is a limited number of infant allowed per aircraft. Children are classified as 3-12 years of age inclusive and must be accompanied by an adult. Overnight packages - Children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult in the cabin.
SENIORS DISCOUNT | A valid Australian Seniors Card may be requested at Check-in to qualify for the Seniors Discount. This Seniors Discount is not available in conjunction with any other discount.
PAYMENT CONDITIONS | To confirm your reservation full payment must be made at the time of booking unless you have an existing account with us. All existing accounts are strictly 14 days. Payment can be made via credit card bank deposit or cash. AMEX cards will attract a 2% surcharge.
MINIMUM NUMBERS | A minimum of 2 passengers or the equivalent cost is required to confirm a tour booking unless the tour is already confirmed to run. Please call our reservations team to check availability for one passenger. All overnight package rates are Twin Share Single Supplement prices are available.
CUSTOMER WEIGHT | Customer and approximate hand baggage weights must be provided to us at time of booking. All customers and baggage will be weighed prior to tour departure for safety and operational reasons. Aviair reserve the right to deny carriage to customers who provide weight information that is inaccurate by more than 15% in which case any fare paid will be forfeit.
CHECK IN TIME | Passengers must be at the aircraft departure point / tour departure point no later than 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
HOTEL TRANSFERS | Complimentary pick up/drop offs are available for brochured Scenic Flights/Tours which depart Kununurra with Aviair. Pick up will be 45 minutes prior to flight departure and available from all Hotel Motels and Caravan Parks within Kununurra Township. Please advise at the time of booking if you require a pickup or call the Aviair office directly on (08) 9166 9300 no later than 3pm the day prior to departure if you require a pickup from your accommodation.
COMMENTARY | All scenic flights and tours include personalised
commentary by the pilot / tour guide. All tours and safety briefings are
conducted in English.
SEAT WEIGHT LIMIT | The maximum seat weight limit on the GA8 Airvan is 132kg. The maximum seat weight limit on the Robinson R44 & R66 helicopter is 136kg. Please check with our reservations which aircraft is running on the day of the tour.
GOVERNMENT CHARGES | Our prices are fully inclusive of all government environmental and airport levies.
VALIDITY OF RATES | Prices quoted are valid until 31st March 2022 and subject to change. Prices quoted are subject to change and are in Australia dollars ($AUD). Tours paid for in full are protected from price increases. In the event of Aviair introducing a special offer or rates that are discounted against the adult fare retrospective refunds will not be permitted.
FITNESS LEVEL AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS | Please advise us no later than the day prior to departure if you have any medical conditions which may affect you completing the guided walks.
Please make yourself aware of fitness levels required to complete the walks information can be found on www.bbgt.com.au regarding the walks. The tour guide on the day has the right to refuse a passenger to join the guided walk if they do not deem them fit and able to do the selected walk.

DISABLED PASSENGERS | Please advise us a minimum of 48 hours prior to scheduled time of departure with the level of assistance required and whether the customer is using a wheelchair. Wheelchairs can be carried on our aircraft providing they are collapsible. For health and safety reasons staff are not permitted to lift a customer into or out of the aircraft. PERSONAL ITEMS | All care is taken to protect customer personal items but no liability is accepted for loss or damage to them. Prior to leaving our aircraft customers should ensure they have all personal belongings with them. For lost property enquiries please call our head office in Kununurra on (08) 9166 9300
CAMERAS – HELICOPTER FLIGHTS | Cameras and phones must have a lanyard / wrist strap. Tablets and iPads are not permitted to be used on board.
SEASONALITY | The start and end of the scheduled season may vary due to weather conditions.
LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS | We prefer soft luggage only and a maximum of 5kg per person for day tours and 8kg per person for overnight tours.
ITINERARIES | Whilst it is our intention to deliver the itinerary of your choice unforeseen circumstances such as the nature of the terrain unseasonable weather national park area closures and so on travelling conditions may be affected and therefore make it necessary to alter touring with little or no notice.
FUEL SURCHARGE | In the event of significant upward movement in the cost of aviation fuel we reserve the right to introduce a fuel surcharge. This shall be advised in writing no less than two months prior to its commencement and will be additionally advised at the time of booking confirmation.
CUSTOMER INFORMATION AND PRIVACY | We require customer information for all reservations that we accept including full passenger name passenger weight contact telephone number and email address. Passenger information will be retained by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy which may be viewed on our Privacy Policy page on our website. We require passenger contact information to allow us to make contact with passengers in the event of occurrences including but not limited to adverse weather conditions on the rare occasion that a tour time may be rescheduled or in the event that personal property has been left behind after a tour.
Rates for Tour H are subject to change if any additional fees or charges are implemented by the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation prior or during the season.
