Getting around Broome by bus is easy. We have lots of options and extra buses are often available for special events.
Broome Regional Town Bus Service (RTBS), operating under the brand name Transbroome, plays an important role in connecting the town. The buses are similar to those used by Transperth, featuring a modern green and silver livery and low-floor designs for easy accessibility.
Transbroome Services
From Sunday 5 July, Route 890 will operate to a new timetable. Transbroome buses will be accepting contactless payments, SmartRider and cash, as of 5 July.
---
SmartRider
A SmartRider is a reusable travel card that can be used on Transbroome services. Go to Transperth’s SmartRider for more information, including how to use a SmartRider and how to get one. Details for the Transbroome Retail Sales Outlet will be available soon.
Contactless payments
You can pay with your bank card or digital wallet. Just hold your payment method near the validator to tag on and tag off. Go to Transperth’s Contactless Payments for more information.
Cash
You can buy cash tickets from the bus driver however, we can’t provide change, so you’ll need to pay the exact fare.

Are TransBroome bus services accessible?
All buses that operate on our bus network are fully accessible. These buses can kneel to the kerb, lowering the step to make it easier for passengers to board and having built-in ramps that can extend to the kerb for those who need it, including passengers with wheelchairs, prams or mobility devices.
Each accessible bus has fold-up chairs with space for two wheelchairs, prams or mobility devices. While all Transregional bus routes are serviced by fully accessible buses, not every bus stop on the network is accessible.
