Important Announcement: 2022 Broome Mardi Gras

Due to the emerging covid situation in Broome & the wider Kimberley, and considering one of the core values of Broome Pride is for our events to run in the best interest of the community’s health and safety, we have had to make the tough decision that the Broome Mardi Gras 2022 events cannot proceed on the dates planned. Please understand that this has been an extremely difficult decision to make. Due to the unpredictable nature of the situation, even given the additional precautions we had implemented to strengthen the safety of the attendees and those involved, we’ve had to consider the wider community of the north-west and the ramifications of the escalation of the outbreak particularly for the vulnerable members of our community.

We are hoping to reschedule the events at a later date when the situation becomes more clear, & all bookings for the original dates will be honoured for the new dates. However we understand that the uncertainty of the situation may lead many of you to want a refund on your tickets, in which case please contact sticky tickets directly on [email protected] with your booking reference & name which the booking was made under. As you can imagine there will be a considerable volume of refund requests going through, so we ask you to please be patient with our ticketing vendor in processing your request.

If you are travelling from outside of Broome for this event, you will need to contact your flight & accommodation provider regarding your bookings with those parties. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but the situation is completely out of our hands and public health & safety will always come first. As a not for profit organisation, run by volunteers, we appreciate your understanding in the fact that this decision was not an easy one to make.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for all the support we have received from our sponsors, performers and the wider community not just for this year’s event, but since our first Mardi Gras in 2015.

We really hope to be able to celebrate pride in the Kimberley with you all, at a later date.

Lucy & the Broome Pride Team
