The festival favourite PEARL MEAT COOK OFF is making its return to Pearl Luggers as part of Shinju Matsuri, Festival of the Pearl!

Delight your taste buds as you try a selection of pearl meat dishes from Broome's best chefs, as they compete for the title of 2024 Pearl Meat Cook Off Champion

This year’s event theme will be "Land Meets Sea". Broome; where sun-baked pindan land meets the glorious cerulean sea. A place where natural elements envelop and harmonise with each other, creating striking, otherworldly beauty. The culinary endeavours of our competing chefs will balance the best that the local land and sea has to offer, creating a tasting experience that celebrates the exquisite flavour of pearl meat - an iconic local cuisine. The Pearl Meat Cook Off is an opportunity for local talent to showcase the incredible flavours that surround us in abundance and demonstrate - through food - the complex yet delightful relationship between the land and sea.
