My name is Hugh Brown and I have been photographing the Kimberley and Pilbara night skies for almost 30 years.

I have published nine best selling coffee table books and for much of the past 20 years, I have been working on projects in some of the world’s most difficult and remote places. I have worked in over 30 different countries.

The Kimberley is my home and passion, and I am excited to be offering four unique tours.

Portraits Under the Stars: This is a unique portrait session where people can get their portrait taken under Broome’s magical night sky. It’s higher yielding and something high end for those wanting it. People come with me for about 90 minutes to an hour and then they depart, and I stay on and capture the stars.

Then there are two other products. These are synced with each other, so that when the moon is not right, I run the half day tours and then, when the stars are right, I run the Broome Astrophotography Tours.

With the exception of April (and maybe May) the Astrophotography Tours start before sunset, we go out and photograph the dusk and stay on to photograph the Milky Way when it emerges. Maximum of 10 people and a minimum of six.

All standards of photographers are welcome, from beginners, those with more experience and professionals. My aim is to share my knowledge and photography processses with my guests. You will receive my cheatsheets and hacks that I use in my work.

You are welcome to give it a try, or you might just want to observe and learn. You might not be a photographer, and want to come out and experience the night sky to learn something different. Either way, I welcome you to join me.

When the stars are not good, I run my Broome Half Day Photography Tours.

We meet at 2.30pm during the day, and then I take you around to show you some of Broome’s more magical places to photograph. We then find the perfect spot to photograph the sunset and dusk. These are often places most tourists couldn’t find easily by themselves. All standards of photographers are welcome.
