Rediscover Jetty to Jetty Saturday 2nd July

Plenty of spaces left on the bus tour (28 guests) – the bus tour starts at 11:30am from Women of Pearling statue to Streeter’s Jetty.
A bus back will also be available at 2pm from Streeter’s Jetty back to Women of Pearling statue.

This event will launch the new Conti Foreshore Footpath and the redeveloped Streeter’s Jetty. The first part of the event will feature story telling from Yawuru elders, focusing on the heritage of the Women of Pearling statue as a part of the Jetty to Jetty trail.

Thanks to the new footpath development, the Women of Pearling statue, which was originally a Goolarri Media and Shire of Broome initiative, will now be able to be viewed up close by patrons with varied accessibility requirements.

The celebration of the Jetty to Jetty Trail will continue with free walking tours from Bart Pigram, finishing with an unveiling at the new Streeter’s Jetty. Through this event we aim to highlight the importance of the trail and hope all guests will download the Jetty to Jetty app to take themselves for self-guided tours along the coast.

The event will start at 10am at the Women of Pearling statue. Morning tea will be provided with in conversation sessions from Yawuru story tellers.

From 11:30am, there will be free tours available to take guests from the Women of Pearling statue to Streeter’s Jetty. Bart Pigram will take people on a free 45 minute walking tour (walking tour fully booked). There will also be a bus tour departing at 11.30am (email to register for this free bus) as an accessible alternative.

From 12pm, we will open Streeter’s Jetty. Catering will be provided with free fishing activities for kids, and live music.

At 12:15pm
we will unveil the plaque with formalities from the Shire, funding partners and Bart Pigram.

When the event finishes at 2pm, a bus will be made available to take any guests that came on the tours back to the Women of Pearling.
