Art Above the 26th

art above the 26th is an exhibition of new works by established artists who live and work above the 26th parallel. While the latitude line defines the geographic edge of ‘the North, ’ it also comes with an attitude; a creative and adventurous grit that has its own character and vernacular. Join us at Broome Civic Centre on May 29 for the launch of 'art above the 26th'. The exhibition runs daily until 4th June.

art above the 26th explores the landscapes, character, heritage, culture and light of the north.

The Kimberley Arts Network, Shire of Broome and the Broome Civic Centre partner to present this annual survey show to showcase the styles, stories and talent of our northern artists.

Join the Shire of Broome and KAN for the launch of our annual survey show 'art above the 26th' on Friday 29th May from 5pm - 7pm - exploring contemporary art from our region. Here in the north we have a different way of looking at the world, and you can get an insight into the vision of some of our best artists - from Kununurra to the Dampier Peninsula and Bidyadanga. We'll have some great local live music and the bar will be open.
