Piyalbajarri: Yarns and Songs by Peter Salmon
CircuitWest and Ngaliju present a Playing WA Tour of Piyalbajarri: Yarns and Songs — an unforgettable evening of stories and songs shared by 92‑year‑old Thiinma Elder, stockman and songwriter Peter Salmon, with long‑time collaborator Rosie Sitorus. Performed in Thiinma and English, Piyalbajarri offers the rare chance to hear a critically endangered language spoken by its only living speaker, alongside original music from the acclaimed project Warralgurniya (‘singing’). With warmth, humour and campfire storytelling, Peter reflects on a lifetime on pastoral stations, deep connection to Country, and the resilience and strength of culture. Thursday 6 June from 5.15pm at the Pigram Theatre & Bar at the Broome Civic Centre. Tickets
