This Bungle Bungle and Osmand Range helicopter flight allows stunning views of the Bungle Bungle Range, featuring the Red Rock Gorges of the Northern Massif, the Western Wall, Piccaninny Gorge and Creek, Deep Gorge and Y Gorge. The Osmand Range is one of the Kimberley’s lesser known spectacular ranges, filled with palms clinging to gorges, waterholes deep in crevasses and endless waves of ancient rocks rolling towards the east. Landing at a remote airfield in Purnululu National Park, you will then transfer to an air-conditioned 4WD bus, alongside your guide, who will drive you closer to the Bungle Bungle Range. Enjoy a moderate 3‑kilometre guided walk among the famous eroded towers and black and orange banded beehive structures on the Domes Walk. Your guide will take you into Cathedral Gorge, where towering cliffs open up to form a space with awe-inspiring natural acoustics. Here you will enjoy your fresh pre-made lunch that is carried in a cooler bag. Walk along the bed of Piccaninny Creek, which flows only in the monsoon waterfall season. You will then continue toward the northern gorges of Purnululu, which are quite different to Cathedral Gorge and the Domes at the south. An approx 45 – 60 minute drive takes you northwards along the Western Wall of the Bungle Bungle Range. A rocky path forms your walkway into Echidna Chasm, which at points can narrow until it is two metres in width. Gazing skywards to the bright blue sky, the orange towering walls look as if they are lit from within, and are scattered with Livistona palm trees clinging to their vertical sides. After your day of exploring the Park, you will head to Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, where you will spend the night in your private en-suite cabin. At the Lodge, you can enjoy dinner and breakfast. The next morning, you will return to Bellburn Airstrip, where you will return via a scenic helicopter flight to Warmun. INCLUSIONS: Experienced pilot & personalised commentary.
