Our annual Shinju Matsuri Senior Citizen’s Morning Tea- partnered with Broome CIRCLE is back for another year. Come along to the Shinju Matsuri Festival Hub at Town Beach to reconnect with old friends & meet some new ones, while enjoying a morning tea spread of tea, coffee, scones & jams. We have a special lineup of entertainments, bingo games, kids choir, live music and exciting prizes for winners! Wednesday 26th August from 10am - 12pm at the Shinju Matsuri Festival Hub.

Join us at Redbill Studio Gallery for a special exhibition celebrating the work of Bidyadanga artists. Featuring works from Jenny Butt, Bibianna Tumbler and Corina Jadal. Make Your Own Pearl Buttons on Thursday 27th August from 9am - 11am. Experience a unique piece of Broome’s pearling heritage in this hands-on workshop at the Broome Men’s Shed. RSVP here. Using traditional mother-of-pearl shell, you’ll learn how pearl buttons were once made for the global fashion industry. Guided by experienced volunteers, you’ll cut, shape, sand and polish your own buttons before drilling the sewing holes. At the end of the session, you’ll take home three beautiful 23 mm mother-of-pearl buttons that you made yourself. No previous experience is required. This workshop is suitable for beginners and offers a fascinating glimpse into one of Broome’s iconic industries.
