Come Wave the Waders Goodbye! Free Community Event! Did you know that Broome’s incredible migratory shorebirds travel all the way to Russia in just 10 days—without stopping? Join us at Broome Bird Observatory on April 4th to witness this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon as thousands of shorebirds take flight from Roebuck Bay—Australia’s Shorebird Capital!

Experience the magical Staircase to the Moon on Saturday 4th April from one of Broome’s most relaxed and scenic settings. Settle in on the Moonlight Bay Lawn and watch the natural phenomenon unfold over Roebuck Bay. Famous for their chart topping 2008 album Apocalypso, which sold in excess of Triple Platinum sales in Australia, featuring four hit singles, including dance floor faves ‘My People’ & 'Talk Like That'. BBQ Sundays, back from Sunday 11 January at lunch time (available between 12:30 and 2:30pm). For just $15 p/p, you'll receive a meat pack containing 2 snags and 1 piece of steak, and side salad/s will be available along with the usual condiments. Simply pay at the bar, receive your meat pack and cook at your leisure on our outdoor BBQ. Cook your own BBQ at the Broome RSL is a great way to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere where our members, family and friends, and visitors can socialise and connect whilst cooking and eating together. The Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon observed in Broome Western Australia between April and October only. It is caused by the rising of a full moon reflecting on the exposed mudflats at extremely low tide creating a beautiful optical illusion of a staircase reaching up to the moon.
