Josh Johnstone in the Lounge Bar from 6pm on Thursday 28th May. Join us for a very special evening of Live in The Lounge as we welcome this guest musician back to our space…JOSH JOHNSTONE. Josh’s experience writing for a range of stylistically different projects – as well as co-writing with Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe), Davey Lane (You Am I), Steve Parkin (Basement Birds), and a cast of many more – has given him the perfect education to meld rock and pop together in sublimely diverse and catchy ways. Of course the live arena is where Josh shines, with his various acts impressing punters when on the bill for the Big Day Out, Australia Survival Day Concert, Rock the Bay Festival (VIC) and St Kilda Festival (VIC), as well as supporting the likes of Gotye, Hurts, The Waifs, Mika, The Beards, John Butler, Sleepy Jackson, Eskimo Joe, Shihad, Gyroscope and more. This project is deeply personal & focused on creating open & safe spaces for conversations about mental health, inspired by his own experiences & a desire to combat the unnecessary social shame surrounding mental health in Australia. art above the 26th is an exhibition of new works by established artists who live and work above the 26th parallel. While the latitude line defines the geographic edge of ‘the North, ’ it also comes with an attitude; a creative and adventurous grit that has its own character and vernacular.
