AFTERGLOW. The first solo exhibition by emerging Broome artist Jaimee Wright. Working on Yawuru Djugun Country, Jaimee's practice draws on her Kimberley upbringing to explore connection to place and the experience of living regionally. In AFTERGLOW, Jaimee presents a collection of new paintings inspired by memories of travelling through the Northwest since childhood. Glowing skies, moonrises, termite mounds and rich red earth unfold across each canvas, capturing the beauty, warmth and quiet nostalgia of the Kimberley landscape. The exhibition will run from 4–16 July.

Beanstalk is the hilarious retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk told from the giant’s point of view. Step into Brian’s cloud-making kitchen where he cooks up carrots, fluffy clouds and a few stories from his not-so-easy life as a giant. Funny, unapologetically playful and utterly charming, Beanstalk will have you laughing at the antics of a loaf of bread (Jack), reeling in horror at the squishing of a tomato (a villager), and marvelling at the clever trickery that brings the magic of cloud creation to life. Can you hear the sound of the Sammy drums? Help us bring Sammy the Dragon to life. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday 14th July from 5.10pm, at the front of the Broome Civic Centre. Meet Dr Ben Collins. Ben was once literally the Voice of Broome - being one of the longest serving journalists with ABC Radio Kimberley. That was until, in his late 40s, Ben decided to go back to uni to study medicine and become a doctor. Luckily for Broome, Ben has returned to practise medicine.
