Derived from the landscape, this body of work reflects on our relationship with the natural world and the importance of caring for Country. Through fundamental dualities—tradition and progress, nature and nurture, order and chaos, it explores the tensions and complexities of contemporary life. Working across monotype, silkscreen, and reduction linoprint techniques, McDermott employs colour intuitively to create depth, movement, and complexity within each work. The resulting prints invite viewers into dynamic visual spaces where place, time, movement, and feeling coexist, encouraging a deeper consideration of our connection to the environment and our responsibility as custodians of the world around us. Adele Oliver has spent the last couple of years touring across Australia, building her repertoire of songs and stories while honing her craft. From the stages of the Tamworth Country Music Festival to completing her first-ever tour across Europe this July, Adele returns home to Broome this September for an extra-special, one-off hometown show with a full band. Expect a night of tall tales, rockin' folk and alt-country songs, plus brand-new, unreleased music from Broome's very own country songstress.
