The story of 'Millie the Black Kite' is based on the story of a famous Broome bird who accidently hitched a ride to Bali. This beautiful, interactive puppet performance is the result of a collaboration between a Broome and Indonesian puppet companies. The story is told using a multitude of puppets. The story is a reflection on the impact of human intervention in the lives of animals, the importance of understanding the needs of wildlife in a changing world, a call for humanity and understanding, and what it means to be free. The Broome Courthouse Markets are held in the beautiful heritage listed gardens of the Broome Courthouse. Trading every Saturday all year, and Sundays during high season. The Broome Courthouse Markets are located on the corner of Frederick and Hamersley Street.

Shinju Matsuri Art Awards Exhibition presented by the Shire of Broome. Open daily at the Broome Civic Centre from 10am - 4pm, with a 2pm finish on Sunday 6th September. Free event. Come along to life drawing session at Kimberley Arts Network. KAN's regular Life Drawing sessions are open to everyone. Whether you're a practicing artist, or someone who just wants to improve your observational and sketching skills... KAN offers a welcoming and creative space for everyone.
